YEAR

2016

BRIEF

IULM University is one of the most dynamic and innovative private Universities in Italy. The Arts&Tourism Faculty director asked us to design two hands-on workshops called “Job Labs” to make students work on practical projects in order to reduce the gap between theoretical teaching and working practice.

WHAT WE DID IN SHORT

  • Workshop Design

  • Teaching

  • Student support

OUR SOLUTION

We followed our teaching methodology called Hands-on, Hearts-on, Minds-on. This methodology uses team-based practical activities in order to enhance interpersonal collaboration and personal involvement of the single individual. Teams brainstormed, produced and presented projects about specific parts of the city, putting together physical and digital dimensions in order to reach their goal, thus enhancing both their project and presentational skills.

SUCCESS

Student teams produced high-quality projects with some excellent ideas, some of which could have practical application in the near future. Following the success of the JobLabs,  IULM asked us to conduct three courses: Digital Communication for the Arts, Digital Archiving for the Arts and Social Media Marketing for the Tourism Industry.
