YEAR

2013

BRIEF

iRobot really is one of the companies shaping our future. Well-known for its home-cleaning robot Roomba, it is also very important in business and military robot development. That’s why we were excited when Nital, which curates all iRobot promotions in Italy, asked us to design a cultural event for iRobot CEO coming to Milan.

WHAT WE DID IN SHORT

  • Cultural Consulting & Research

  • Event concept and planning

  • Presentation and guided tour delivery

OUR SOLUTION

We wanted to offer the iRobot CEO a unique experience able to connect his very specific field of interest, robots, with the great Renaissance tradition of technical innovation. In particular we focused on Leonardo da Vinci, who summarises in himself the connection between, art, science and technology.

Little known is the fact that Leonardo studied robots and automata, both for theatrical and military reasons. We then organised an exclusive tour with the curators of the interactive exhibition “Leonardo3” in the centre of Milan.

The main focus of the exhibition is about Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions and machines, with spectacular real-life reproductions of some of his most daring ideas, including a mechanical lion and a self-moving robot warrior. The iRobot CEO had a possibility to discuss with Leonardo3 staff how his “colleague” Leonardo was researching in his own field more than 500 years ago.

SUCCESS

The CEO defined the exhibition and the discussion with the researchers “extremely inspiring” and “memorable“.
The only downside was that he wasn’t able to hire Leonardo da Vinci as an engineer for iRobot!

.

Quality and attention to detail of the service has been perfect. The whole experience was extremely inspiring and memorable.
